How to use EarBeater Web

A brief overview of how to use the app, how you can create your own ear training exercises, adjust your settings and so on…..

How to get started

  • Select the ear training discipline you wish to train: Compare Interval Sizes, Identify Intervals, Identify Chords, Identify Chord Inversions, or Identify Scales.

  • Select the exercise you want to practice

  • Click on the start button

  • Answer the questions and train your ear

How to adjust game settings

  • Click the gear icon in the top right corner while you’re in game mode.

  • Adjust the desired sound volume

  • Select if you want to continue to the next question automatically after every correct answer.

  • Select if you want the on screen keyboard to be playable.

  • Set the time interval between notes when exercise is playing ascending or descending notes.

  • Select if you want to hear a jolly little sound when you answer correct or incorrect.

How to create your own exercises

  • Select the discipline type you want to create an exercise for.

  • From the exercise selector click on the “User Exercises” tab.

  • Click on the red circle with the plus sign.

  • Select the intervals, chords or scales you want in your exercise.

  • Give your exercise a title, a description, and select if the sound sequences should be played ascending, descending or harmonic.

  • Save the exercise and start it from the user exercise selector.

How to edit your exercises

  • Click the icon with the three small dots on the exercise you want to edit.

  • Select edit in the pop up menu.

  • Make your changes to the exercise and save it.

How to make a copy of an exercise and how to delete an exercise

  • To delete an exercise click the icon with the three small dots on the exercise you want to get rid of.

  • Select delete and confirm you really want to delete that poor exercise.

  • To make a copy of an exercise click the icon with the three small dots on the exercise you want to make a copy of.

  • Select copy in the pop up menu, enter a title for the copy and click copy.

How to keep track of your scores

  • After completing an exercise an evaluation popup will appear.

  • Here you can see how much you scored in the exercise. If you aced it you will be told to move on. If you didn’t too too well, you will be asked to go back to a previous exercise.. And if you did ok, but not quite good enough, you will be asked to play the exercise again.

  • When you return to the exercise selector you will be able to see your score for each individual exercise.
